More than a hundred young musicians from North East India have registered. Six days of conservatoire training with faculty from the Royal Philharmonic, the Royal College of Music and Wigmore Hall. The first auditions are below — and their places still need funding.
Over six immersive days, young musicians from across the Seven Sisters states train with international faculty in technique, theory, interpretation and performance — then take it to a public stage on the final evening. It is the first step in building long-term music education partnerships for students from the region, with the aim of creating lasting academic links to institutions such as Trinity Laban and the Yehudi Menuhin School, while celebrating the distinctive musical heritage of the Seven Sisters.
The workshop is anchored by Bernardi Music Group (UK), in collaboration with the Global Assamese Engagement Initiative and the Alliance for Community Capacity Building in NE India.

Registrations are past a hundred and still open. Listed below are the twenty-nine musicians who have confirmed their discipline and repertoire so far — the ten who already appear in an audition come first, highlighted. Leading UK violinist, festival director and founder of Bernardi Music Group. He has performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic.
A solo, duo and chamber music pianist based in London who has performed across the world and works as a pianist for Southbank Centre.
Trained at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal College of Music. He has toured worldwide with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and held principal positions with RTE National Symphony Orchestra.
Acclaimed tenor trained at Delhi and Cambridge Universities and under Nicolai Gedda. He has performed at Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.
Sponsorship pays for scholarships and subsidised places, faculty flights and accommodation, and the venue, transport and hospitality that make six days of training possible. Support can be financial or in kind. Funds are managed in accordance with CSR guidelines.
